Before You Go
March to May (cherry blossoms in late March/early April) and September to November offer ideal weather with temperatures from 15-26°C (59-79°F). Summer is hot and humid (25-32°C). Winter is cold (0-8°C) but museums are less crowded. Most museums and monuments are free.

Getting There
TransportationBy Air: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is closest to downtown. Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington (BWI) are larger hubs.
By Train: Amtrak connects to Boston (7 hours), New York (3.5 hours), Philadelphia (2 hours) from Union Station.
By Car: I-95 corridor. Parking downtown is expensive and difficult.
