Getting There

By Train: Direct trains connect to Copenhagen (5 hours), Oslo (6 hours), and other European cities.
By Ferry: Overnight ferries arrive from Helsinki, Tallinn, and other Baltic cities.
Language
CommunicationSwedish is the official language, but English proficiency is exceptional - nearly everyone speaks fluent English, especially in Stockholm.
Currency
Money mattersSwedish Krona (SEK). Sweden is nearly cashless - cards are accepted everywhere. Many places don't accept cash at all. Currency exchange: roughly 10-11 SEK per USD.
Getting Around
Local transportMetro (Tunnelbana): Three lines (red, green, blue) cover the city efficiently. Single ride: 38 SEK.
