September to November offers the best weather with temperatures from 15-22°C (59-72°F), clear skies, and warm days - perfect for outdoor activities. April to June is also pleasant. July and August are foggy and cool (12-18°C) - San Francisco's 'summer' is actually its coldest season. December to March is rainy season with cooler temperatures (10-15°C).

Getting There
TransportationBy Air: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the main gateway, 21km south of downtown. Oakland International (OAK) is across the bay and often has cheaper flights.
By Train: Amtrak connects to Los Angeles (11 hours), Seattle (22 hours), and other cities from Emeryville station.
By Car: Highway 101 and I-80 connect to other Bay Area cities.

BART: Regional rail connecting SF to East Bay and SFO/OAK airports.
